Namibia

Here a few pics from Namibia, the way you've probably pictured it anyway. It really is impressive. (I will continue now in English, and please let me know if you appreciate that or rather not!) The Nomad and the Dunes...
We've started at 5:20 am to see the sunrise from Dune 45, quite a hike at this time of the day. Especially because it is not so easy to walk in the sand (as you probably all know, it's a bit two steps forward, one step backwards... But after a while you get the trick and then it is easier.) But it was worth it anyway.
Our guide who took us through Sussuvlei later told us about his hike from the desert to the coast.. and that is what I want to do now! Seven days walking through the desert. It sounds so exciting. Walking at night, sleeping during the day, in special areas, dug into the sand (to be cool). But obviously I'd need a professional guide, a bushman at best, because they really seem to know the area.
Anyway, this is just a crazy idea for the future, for the time being we don't have time, just the day tomorrow for some adventurous adrenaline stuff. I decided to do neither sandbording (I did it in Peru) nor quad biking (I think it's stupid and ruins the dunes) nor dolphin safaris (I've done that in better weather. We are in Swakopmund right now and that seems to be kind of the adrenalin capital of Namibia. But as you all know I get my adrenalin from elsewhere :-)
The only thing I was interested in was sky diving, but then I think I want to enjoy that really, and not just add it to the other great experiences I have here. So I'll just have a quiet day in town...
And then I'll tell you about Swakopmund and the German tradition in Namibia....

Ariane hat gesagt…

Hallo Eva, was für wunderbare Bilder.
Ariane (Lattke)
